America turned 250. A note from someone who was not born into the experiment but joined it.

America turned 250 this weekend.

I was not born here. I chose here.

I built my career across three continents before deciding this was where I would build my life. Echosign/Adobe. DocuSign. Seismic. PayPal. Every chapter happened because this country runs on a simple deal: show up, take the swing, and nobody asks who your father was.

250 years is not a birthday. It is the longest-running experiment in betting on people who arrive with nothing but ambition and a work ethic.

I see it working every day. Immigrants building companies. Sellers out-preparing everyone in the room. First-generation kids running P&Ls.

Here is the part no one talks about. Choosing a country is harder than being born into one. You give up belonging by default. You earn it by building. Every quota carried. Every team built. Every hard quarter closed.
